      33. Anne WINTHROP

Notes for Henry BAGLEY:
Henry Bagley
From Some Descendants... : The details come from Amesbury, MA records unless otherwise noted. "He received the seventh share of his father's estate, nine acres of land, more or less. He lived in Amesbury, MA, in Newton NH and, in his old age, moved to Candia, NH. October 26, 1730, he was set off to pay the minister's school rate in the East Parish of Kingston, NH. He was annexed to the East Parish, Kingston, NH, in 1739 and was in Newton, NH by 1755 (Kingston and Newton, NH Records). On April 14, 1751, Anne wife of Henry Bagley, was taken into full communion at Second Church, Amesbury, MA. On April 12, 1752, Henry Bagley was taken into full communion at the Second Church, Amesbury, MA. On December 3, 1758, he and his wife were gathered into the church at Newton, NH. (Second Church, Amesbury, MA Records) April 1, 1766, Henry Bagley of Newton, NH sold to William Bailey land in Newton, house and barn and pew in the meetinghouse. Anne Bagley is given as his wife on this deed. Jacob Bagley of Candia, NH was made administrator on his estate, April 24, 1776, and the inventory was 35 pounds, 8 shillings, 10 pence (Rockingham County NH Probate Records) On September 29, 1794, Jacob Bagley sold 70 acres of land left by his father Henry, to heirs: Jonathan, David, Samuel, Hannah, Winthrop, Jacob and Anna. The deed is signed by Jacob and Mary or Molly (Rockingham County NH Deeds)."
Anne's maiden name is not mentioned. We have it as Winthrop from an unverified source. The Essex Antiquarian had Mary Currier as Henry's first wife. Bagley Desc. says that Henry, Jr.'s birth (1730) was listed under Currier and most likely an ellegitimate birth. It gives her name as being Currier in 1748. Our unverified source says Henry and Anne were married c 1733.
Also the book shows that Jacob, Jonathon, David, Samuel, and Hannah were all baptized in Newton NH in October, 1753.
The book gives death date as before 1734, but correspondent who sent copy of book, crossed out and put August 24, 1776, no source was noted by either.
