*Rix : "He lived in Douglass and Oxford, Mass. He was an elder in the Baptist church, and afterward became an Universalist preacher. On his was to preach in Providence, he stopped at Smithfield, where Sept. 14,1786, and without warning, he met the messenger of death. He was the first pastor of the First Universalist Church in Boston, Mass."

*History of Littleton : "In his childhood the family removed to Douglas, Mass. He lived in Charlton, Oxford, and Douglas, Mass. Soldier, 1757. He was an elder of the Baptist Faith , and after 1777 a Universalist Preacher, laboring in several towns in the vicinity of his home."
