973. * Elizabeth Kilbourn (1794) died on JUN 18 1761. (1795) Note: Her date of death is given as June 1761, but her youngest son Levi, is given as being born in Aug. of 1761, so there is an error with one of these dates. She is my 7th great grandmother. 7th great grandmother

*Jeffrey Families: He "came to Jaffrey from Leominster, Mass., and bought from Oliver Hale of Leominster, Jan. 2, 1773, '80 acres in Middle Monadnock No. 2, being all the land lying on the south side of the river [Mountain Stream] belonging to lot 15, range 9.' He sold his river farm to Ephraim Whitcomb, who in 1783 (see below) sold it to Asa Priest, younger brother of Daniel and Jonathan. In 1778 he bought of Francis and Joseph Wright, lot 3, range 3, on the southwest slope of Monadnock, where for thirteen years he had a rocky row to hoe. Having musical gifts, he was chosen in 1778, with Abraham Bailey and David Stanley, 'to tune the psalm' in public worship. He served the Revolution (see record in Vol. 1), and was a member of the Jaffrey Training Band in 1784. He was admitted to membership in the church in Jaffrey, with his wife by letter from the church in Leominster in 1785. His house and orchard were in the south part of his lot 3, range 3, on the original mountain road where traces of his cellar may still be seen. In 1801 he sold his home lot to Roger Brigham and Robert Harkness and removed to Grafton, Vt. This lot, including the 'Priest Orchard,' is now (1933) owned by the Society for Protection of New Hampshire Forest, as part of its Monadnock Reservation. b. Jonathan Priest m. May 18, 1775, Molly Divoll. The Census of 1790 indicates two sons under sixteen and one daughter."

*Jeffrey Families: He "served in the Revolution from Leominster. (see record in Vol 1). He was a member of the Jaffrey Training Band in 1784. On May 19, 1783, he bought of Ephraim Whitcomb, eighty acres in lots 14 and 15, range 9, on the Contoocook river, which is now the Harry C. Lacy farm on the Jaffrey-Rindge state road. He sold this property in 1785 to John Wood and Thomas Hale, blacksmith, but was still of Jaffrey in 1792. No record of children has been found." No wife given.

*Jeffrey Families: He "was the youngest son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Kilbourn) Priest of Leominister. He had a long and credable Revolutionary service, begun at the age of fourteen and continuing until the close of the war. After the war he is said to have come to Jaffrey, but removed to Hancock, N.H., where he lived for the rest of his life. He m. Mary Brooks of Sterling, Mass., and had fourteen children.
