(3254)(3255) was born about

(3257) *History of Hampton : "Unfavorable
economical conditions and repression by Bishop Matthew Wren of Norwich in 1635
resulted in a large number of immigrants from Norfolk to New England. The Page
family left Gt. Yarmouth in April 1637 (See J.C. Hotten, p.291). They sailed
on the ship 'Rose' (Mr. Wm Andrew, Master) and arrived in Boston on 8 June following."
He immigrated on JUN 8 1637 to Boston, MA.(3258)

*History of Hampton Vol.2 : "Robert Page, the first of the name in Hampton,
was a son of Robert and Margaret Page, of Ormsby, in the county of Norfolk, England,
where he was born about 1604. His wife's name was Lucy [Warde]. The record
of their examination, April 11, 1637, preparatory to leaving England, gives his
age as thirty-three years, and hers as thirty years. They, with three children,
'Francis, Margarett and Susanna, and two servants, William Moulton aged 20 years
and Anne Wadd, 15 years, were desirous to passe into New England to inhabitt.'
He settled in Hampton in 1639, having received a grant of ten acres of land
for a house-lot, lying between the house-lots of William Marston, on the west,
and Robert Marston, on the east, abutting the Meeting house Green on the south,
and other land of his, on the north. This is still the home of the daughters
of Josiah Page, a descendant, of the sixth generation." [1893]
"Goodman Page was one of the selectmen six years. He represented the
town in the General Court of Massachusetts, two years; was at one time marshal
of the old county of Norfolk. He was also a member of various committees raised
by the town from time to time. In 1660, we find him one of the deacons of the
church, and from the death of his colleague in 1671, to his own death, he appears
to have been the only deacon. He died Sept. 22, 1679, aged seventy-five. Lucy,
his wife, died Nov. 12, 1665, aged fifty-eight."
Note: the servant Anne Wadd was Anne Warde, the youngest sister of Lucy

His will was recorded at Southwold, Suffolk Co., England, and the estate was
settled in Nov., 1617. By the terms of same he left some property to the church,
the minister, and for clothing his sister's children. The balance to be divided
between his wife and children. His son, Robert, emigrated to America in 1637."

Norfolk,
England, was given permission to move to New England together with Lucea, his
wife, three children, Frances, Margaret and Susanna and two servants."

wife, mentioned in another chapter, was born at Ormsby, Norfolk Co., England
in 1604. He was marshall of Norfolk Co. and came to New England, landing at
Salem in 1637. With him came his wife, Lucy, a son Francis, and two daughters,
Margaret and Susanna, and two hired servants. They settled at Hampton, NH, where
he was made a freeman on May 18, 1642, and he died at Hampton, Sept. 22, 1679,
aged seventy five years. He was elected a member of the first board of selectmen
and again elected a member of the same body in 1647-52-55-59-67 and 70. Was
a member of the General Assembly in 1657, and again in 1668. He built the first
saw mill there and one report says it was the first in this country and in 1659,
when seventy six persons were taxed in that township his tax was the highest,
amounting to one-twentieth of the whole sum. He was the only deacon of the church
