Info. from Wash. Co., Pa. will book lists John Munn, Sr. Dated 4-12-1786, probated1802.

Children's names from Mrs. W.E. Morris, Elburn, Ill. in 1940, from old bible with name, DAVID MUNN written in very old ink, & JAMES ADAMS, not so old ink.

Munn settled by 1771 near Chartiers Creek, then Yohogany Co., Va. He was a farmer.

David acquired by purchase, in 1793, the tract of land, which had been patented to his father in 1790. This tract known in old surveys as "Medina." A settlement called Munntown grew on this land. In 1843, it had a postoffice with the 1st postmaster Samuel Hamilton. Munntown may be loated on the old map, included in the 1878 "History of Washington Co. Pa."
