NOTES FROM THE HISTORY OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY;
born NOVEMBER 4, 1832 He emigrated to America on the 24th of April, 1849, sailing from Genoa and landing at New York on the 2nd of July. He went to Cincinnati for two years then returned to New York and went to California via Nicaragua arriving in San Francisco in 1852. A month later he left for Jackson, Amador Co. CA for gold mines with a dozen friends for 18 months. He spent another 18 months at Mokolumne Hill, Calaveras Co. then 3 days mining at Albany Flat. Along the Stanislaw River, two miles from Robinson's Ferry. At Columbia, Tuolumne Co he built a flume seven miles in length from Sawmill Flat to Hardscrabble and was Foreman of the work. Then he bought a grocery store at Italian Bar in 1862. In 1863 he married in Sonora and remained there for 14 months. He went to sea to Mexico then San Francisco Store. Maria Rocca. In 1867 he located in Stockton.

The Rossi Brothers Shoe Store at 45 East Main & El Dorado Streets Eugene J. and Angelo A were the Rossi Brothers. Their Residence was at 1304 San Joaquin Street. The property was bequeathed to Stockton High School and remained there until it was torn down (see article with photo)
