NOTES FORM HER GRANDDAUGHTER Elenore Merz
She was pretty well organized, the ruler of the house. An excellent cook. During the depression they bought a Packard Sedan to learn how to drive that car. On the corner of El Dorado and Main St. Rossi Brothers Shoe Store. Maria brought over to work in the Colombo Hotel. Maria Sanguinetti came first....      Five Mile House on Rivera Road across from Bruener's (Pacific Avenue in Lincoln Village) was a "Road House", a place to eat and rest. People had buggies. The Rivera family were relatives of the Sivori sisters. That's were mother was born. Then they went out to the country. He had a little property the lamp fell over and the house caught fire. People on the next ranch took them in. They they built a home on Peltier Road in Acampo. The other ranchers were just temporary. During the depression years S. S. lent a number of the ranchers money. They had no way to repay him.

Steven Sanguinetti living in 1987 on Drais Road delivered hay to the house at River Bend on Eight Mile Road belonging to Brenus Kenyon who ran a diary in the 20's It was muddy with 4 or 5" deep slush in winter. He took the hay to the barn behind the house where they kept what were maybe Holstein cows.

Four Sanguinetti brothers came to this country. The oldest brother was Stefano Sanguinetti who married Maria Sivori. They lived by Sanguinetti Lane across the Caliveras River, the north side. There used to be a bridge there. Stefano had sheep.

Note from Mary Elizabeth Kenyon Nelson 8/23/87:( born 1920, their great-niece): Family parties were held at the Sanguinetti's where Jim Jr. born about 1919 and Elizabeth/Betty/Mary Elizabeth born about 1922 played together. Jim Sanguinetti was about George Kenyon's age. They visited "Lola" Sanguinetti at her "the ranch". They had a beautiful big house with "expansive lawns".

Sanguinettis buried in Catholic Cemetery just off the Cemetery Lane Entrance.
