Notes for H
ENRICH JUNGHANS:
Henrich JUNGHANS was first identified at Rhinebeck St. Peters Lutheran Church, Dutchess Co., NY with the birth of Mathias in 1767. Then he appeared at Pine Plains Round Top Lutheran Church, Dutchess Co., NY in 1768 with the christening of a second child, Catharina. It cannot be positively stated that the records related to the person named Henrich JUNGHANS in these early periods are the same person, but Henrich appears on land records near Sand Lake, Rensselaer Co., NY by 1790, on various records associated with Columbia Co., NY, and then, Henry YONKHANS is on the 1800 Columbia Co., NY census at Livingston. Mathias (first child of Henrich and Sara) and his descendants seemed to be concentrated at Sand Lake, Rensselaer Co., while Michael (second child of Henrich and Maria) and his descendants settled mostly in Columbia Co. (Livingston, Gallatin, Ancrum). Michael appears to have moved to Schodac in Rensselaer Co. about 1815 based on census information.
IMPORTANT NOTE: No record has yet been found confirming that the apparent 2nd marriage to Maria is for the same Henrich JUNGHANS. Deduction that he is same person is based on the common association with Pine Plains Round Top Lutheran Church where (1) 2nd child of Henrich and Sara was christened in 1768, (2) where Sara died in 1770 and is buried, and (3) where 1st child of Henrich and Maria was christened in 1772, all within a 4-year time span.
      1800: Written "Henry Yonkhans" 1m >45, 1m 16-26, 1f 26-45, 1f 16-26. (Henry would be 60 in 1800)
