He married PHEBE ELIZABETH VANDERPOOL January 31, 1858 in 1st Dutch Reformed Church, Albany, NY, daughter of PETER VANDERPOOL and SARAH HOUGHTALING. She was born November 23, 1820 in NY, and died November 7, 1908 in NY.

      Additional lineage information on the John Henry Younghans family provided by Louise Eileen (Patch/Miller) Younghans, wife of Peter Elwin Younghans.
      1850 census lists as "John H. Younghans" age 25.
      Transcribed "Yunghanse" in 1860 but census is clearly "Younghanse" and Peter (age 74) and Catharine Vanderpool (age 40) are living with the family.
      In 1870 Sarah Vanderpool age 15 and Charles Vanderpool age 13 are living with the family.
      1880 census transcribed as "Younghaus."
