He was christened on 20 May 1801.(69) Gary Shaw gave 20 May 1801 as Daniel Newcomer's birth date. He died on 24 Sep 1875 in Polo, Ogle, IL.(130) Daniel Newcomer's death date was listed as 20 May 1801 by Harriet Fletcher reading from Daniel's grave marker. However, the "1886 Ogle County History" listed Daniel's death date as 1876. He was buried in Elkhorn Brick Church Cemetery, Polo, Ogle, IL. (44)
Married in 1822, Daniel Newcomer and Barbara Stoner, his wife, moved a few years later to Franklin County, Pennsylvania. There he farmed until March 1865, when he took his family to Eagle Point, Ogle, Illinois. He was a deacon and his family were members of the River Brethren Church.

He was married to Barbara STONER (daughter of John STONER and Elizabeth BARR) on 18 Nov 1822 in Hagerstown, Washington, MD. Barbara STONER(20) (59)(131) was born on 14 Jan 1800 in Leitersburg, Washington, MD.(44) She died on 23 Jun 1873 in Eagle Point, Ogle, IL. (132) She was buried in Elkhorn Brick Church Cemetery, Polo, Ogle, IL.(44)
Stoner name is also listed as "Stone" and "Stower."
One of Barbara Stoner's brothers was a well-known River Brethren preacher in Pennsylvania. The Stoner family owned the Linden Mills. Daniel NEWCOMER Senior and Barbara STONER had the following children:
