19. Peter NEWCOMER Senior (40) (41)(42) (7) was born on 4 Sep 1752 in , Lancaster, PA. (43) Melanie Jackson and Gary Shaw gave Peter Newcomer's birth date as 20 August 1752, under the "old style". He died on 4 Jan 1826 in Beaver Creek, Washington, MD.(44) He was buried in Fahrney's (originally Mount Zion) Church Cemetery, Mapleville, Washington, MD. Peter Newcomer moved from Washington County, Maryland to Tyron Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was a Mennonite.

The Daughters of the American Revolution Patriot Index - Centennial Edition, Part 2, page 2137, listed Peter Newcomer (same two wives, but different birth--20 May 1758--and death--15 May 1836--dates) as rebel private during the Revolutionary War. Another source reported that Peter Newcomer served in the Pennsylvania mitlitia from 1780 to 1781 as a private in the First Battaliion, Cumberland County Militia, but more detailed research by Marie Jones found that Peter Newcomer to be a different Peter Newcomer.

James Lehman's book listed Peter Newcomer as a "non-enroller and non-associator" by Captain Samuel Hughes on 29 April 1776. The Convention of the Province of Maryland allowed exemptions to militia service for pacifists during the Revolutionary War.

He was married to Elizabeth ROWLAND (daughter of Jacob ROWLAND and Elizabeth MARTIN) in 1781. (44) Elizabeth ROWLAND (21)(20) was born on 11 Aug 1759 in , Lancaster, PA.(43) She died on 27 Oct 1792. She was buried in Fahrney's (originally Mount Zion) Church Cemetery, Mapleville, Washington, MD. Peter NEWCOMER Senior and Elizabeth ROWLAND had the following children:

Elizabeth Houser's name also listed as "Annie House." Peter NEWCOMER Senior and Elizabeth HOUSER had the following children:

David Newcomer is not listed as a child of Peter and Elizabeth Newcomer in Williams' or Newcomers' books. Lee Garlock listed Barbara Stoner (or Stover) as David's wife, but Williams had her marrying Daniel Newcomer, a brother of David.
