According to Frederick William Doerges Senior, after his natural father d ied, his mother remarried. Fred's new stepfather was Robert William Do erges, a cousin to his natural father, hence the same name.

The second Robert Doerges was previously married, and had two sons, Rob ert and Carlton. According to G.G. Doerges, both boys were "kidnapped" b y their mother and raised in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii until grown. Their m other married again and the boys were adopted by their new father and t heir names were changed. This proved to be untrue, at least for one of h is sons, due to the fact that Robert Doerges was located through his So cial Security application information.

For more than 20 years, she served on the Salvation Army A dvisory Board and the Booth Memorial Home Board. She has been a suppor ter of the YWCA, the Red Cross, and the National Jewish Hospital. She a lso served on the board of the Boise Council on Aging. Her expertise i n the food business led her to help establish the food technology porti on of the vocational education program at Boise State University. She w as also a member of the Music Week board, the Idaho Humane Society, the B oise Art Association, the Boise Civic Opera, the Community Concer6 Asso ciation and the Soroptimists. She taught cooking classes with Communit y Schools, was the director of Hays House, a shelter home for youths, a nd helped reorganize 300 Main Street as a non-profit club for women.
