He married (1) Margaret "Maggie" James October 03, 1870. She was born June 19, 1850 in England, and died May 15, 1884 in Algona, Kossuth County, Iowa. He married (2) Laura Christensen December 10, 1885 in Algona, Kossuth, Iowa. He married (3) Luella McPhearson 1910. She was born 1868 in Iowa.

Mr. Peter Oleson of Algona and Mrs. Laura Christensen, of Wesley, were married at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Lawson of the latter place, on Thursday, December 10, Rev. A. A. Wilcox officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Oleson have taken up their residence in Algona. Mr. Oleson is one of our most highly respected citizens.

Laura's maiden name was Christensen, married name Lawson, and marrying Peter was her 2nd marriage. I have never looked for anything on her first husband's death, divorce, or if she had any kids prior to George or Ruby. I have some land purchases and sales information from the Algona and Forest City area, but I haven't sorted them out yet.

Notes for Margaret "Maggie" James:
(Wayne Steffenson) found these articles in the Algona Museum Newspaper Archives this past summer. I was real excited to find them. I had been looking for more information on Margaret for a very long time. There was no record of her death in the Kossuth County Court House records. These articles supported the gravestone that said she died in 1884 and is buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Algona Iowa end of Phillips Street; instead of the 1883 that is in the Oleson Book.

Mrs. Peter Oleson, was reported as dying yesterday, but she afterwards revived and is now lying very low; with consumption, as our reputable physicians state. Mrs. Oleson has long been a suffer.
