Louis (nickname Luci-pronounced Luchee) was a very colorful
character in his own right. Many tales or legends abound in
the family concerning him. Howev er, he was to be admired for
his choice to serve in the Army during World War I where he
sustained injury to his eyes from a dust storm in the western
de sert. His brother Andrew was the family athlete, having
played minor league baseball but deferred service by payout by
his father. MS Pvt US Army WWI. Buried Div M, Sec 1, Lot 35,
