William (Bille) Henry Orr (b. December 19, 1859, d. September 07, 1949)

William (Bille) Henry Orr was born December 19, 1859 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, OH, and died September 07, 1949 in Rock Falls, Whiteside County, IL. He married Charlotte (Lottie) Temple Britt on July 30, 1880 in Tampico, Whiteside County, IL, daughter of Thomas Lacon Britt and Susan Lovina Wright.

Notes for William (Bille) Henry Orr:
William's father is unknown. William left home at 15 due to
trouble at home.He was well known in the Rock Falls community
where he settled. He was said to have red hair, was an avid
gardener and a wonderful sense of humor. He listed his
occupation as farmer on his marriage license. The license was
issued by E.M.Payne, clerk, Whiteside co., page 132 of the
marriage register. Lottie was 17 at the time of marriage,
william claimed to be 20 but was probably closer to 18. William
went to work for the Burlignton railroad in 1891. He lost his
left arm in the coupling of two cars in 1892. Susequently he
worked as a watchman at the Ave B crossing in Rock Falls, IL.
William worked as a chauffer in June 1923. He died from a stroke
which left him bedridden and partially paralyzed. Death came at
5 P.M. in the home of his daughter Ethel Reese.
