He married ALICE MAY REED, daughter of JOHN REED and CATHERINE BAUER. She was born November 14, 1883 in Holgate, Henry County, Ohio, and died August 09, 1940 in Stryker, Ohio.

Stryker Marshal Dies
Stryker, Sept. 6--Oscar Osborn 56, village marshal and Republican candidate for reelection in November, died Saturday. His wife, six sons and a daughter survive. The funeral will be Tuesday afternoon.


OBITUARY

Oscar Osborn, son of David and Catharine Osborn, was born in Defiance county, December 19, 1881 and passed away September 4, 1937, aged 55 years, 8 months and 15 days. He was married to Alice May Reed on Dec. 2, 1900 at Napoleon, Ohio. The young couple made their home at Florida, Ohio. After living there for a number of years they moved to Defiance county, where they remained until coming to Stryker twenty years ago. To this union were born seven children: Cassel of Bryan; Mrs. Donelda Gansmiller; Richard and Harry of Stryker, Lauren, Robert and Howard at home, all of which with the mother are living also 7 grandchildren, 4 brothers--Dave of Florida, Ohio; Calvin of Liberty Center; John of Montpelier: Emanuel of Napoleon; 3 sisters--Mrs. Katy Truby of Defiance; Mrs. Emma Weaver of Florida; Mrs. Villa Bordner of Montpelier, also a host of other relatives and friends. The father, mother, one brother, three sisters preceded him in death.
He was a highly honored and upright citizen, a kind father, husband, neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at the Stryker Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. A. Taff officiating. Interment in Stryker cemtery.

Note from Lucinda Osborn-

I never knew much about my Grandparents, only a couple of things I can remember from what my Father told me about them. Dad said that they were good and loving parents. He described his father as being "raw boned" and a hard worker. He often remembered his mother's cooking, her sugar pie was one of his favorites.


Grampa Osborn's grave stone has his birthdate as 1880, birth records in Henry County has1878,one obit & card from funeral puts his birthdate in 1881

OBITUARY

Alice May Osborn, only daughter of John O. and Mary Reed was born in Holgate, Ohio, Nov. 14, 1883 and departed this life after a few weeks illnes, August 9, 1940, at the age of 56 years, 8 months, 26 days.
She was united in marfriage to Oscar Osborn Dec. 2, 1900. The young couple made their home at Florida, Ohio. After living there for a number of years they moved to defiance Couny where they remained until coming to Stryker about twenty-three years ago.
To this union were born seven children: Cassel of Bryan, Mrs. Donelda Gansmiller of Toledo, Richard, Lauren, Harry, Robert, and Howard of Stryker. There are also nine grandchildren, two brothers, Daniel and Charles Reed of Toledo, a step-father, Edward Sinkey and a host of other relatives and friends.
I cannot say and will not say, that she is dead, she is just away.
With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand, she has wandered into an unknown land.

Florence Ruth Osborne
Services are pending at the Ballard Funeral Home for Florence Ruth Osborne, 72, of 521 E. Third Street, who died Thursday in a Roswell nursing home.
Mrs. Osborne, a housewife and retired practical nurse, was born May 25, 1903 in Bryan, Ohio to Mr. and Mrs. William Salzmann, both deceased.
She was reared in Bryan and lived there until her marriage to Cassel O. Osborne on Sept. 11, 1924.
Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1974.
The family lived between Michigan and Ohio until retirement in 1966 when they moved to Roswell.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the donor's favorite charity.
Survivors include one son, Ed Osborne of Roswell: two daughters, Mrs. Franklin"Evadean"Johnson of Wayne, Mich. and Mrs. Pete"Dorothy"Kunkel of Roswell: tow sisters, Louisa salzmann of Wayne, Mich. and Mrs. Millie Scott of Hastings, Mich.: 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
