born on Feb 4 1824. Other researchers place Issac in the family of Jacob and
Liddia Stark Oskin. Liddia in the 1850 census (Jacob died in 1848) is shown with
a 25 year old Issac. Earlier census counts show no male children in the family
of Jacob and Liddia in this age group. Other records show an Issac born in 1824
as the son of Benjamin.
He was Indentured to William Jones on Oct 6 1840. From Spencer County Misc
records, Spencer County Indentures; Page 46: 6 Oct 1840, Alexander Oskins, aged
15 yrs on 27 July 1840, Isaac Oskins, aged 16 on 4 Feb 1840, indentured to William
Jones to learn the labors of farming and other work; sons of Benjamin Oskins;
to receive 6 months of schooling and each to receive at 21 years of age title
to 40 acres.
