The Ouimette Family is from Platsburgh, NY. I do not have much information concerning the Ouimette side of the family. My mothers side of the family is Chaples, (Paternal) and Chalmers (Maternal).
The Chalmers side comes from Ireland although that is pretty much all I know.
Fred McKeen Chaples was my Mothers Father. His father was Drew Chaples of Belfast, ME. His father was Captain Henry Joseph Chaples of Belfast. His father was William Chaples of Belfast. His father was Robert Chaples of St. George Maine. We have gone as far back at 1786 with the Chaples family tree. As the tree branches out there are quite a few Sea Captains in the family.
