On 18 July 1823 Christian Enterline became the first owner of lot three, situated on the north side of Market Street. Christian, a hatter, presumably had a shop on these premises at least as early as 1828. He was assessed in that year for the land and house he owned in Lykens Township as well as the house in town.
On 28 Mar 1833, about ten years after the original purchase, Christian and his second wife, Susannah sold their property in Gratz to Henry C. Hoffman, a carpenter. Parents: Johann Michael ENTERLINE and Elizabeth SCHNOGEN.
