Moses states that he was born in Pittsylvania Co. VA in his pension application for Revolutionary service but Pittsylvania wasn't formed till 1766/7 so it had to be Halifax. Moses' family may have moved to Pittsylvania later on or, perhaps the county formed around where they were living. (skm)
Mar 1778 or 1779 Enlisted to serve 6 months in Capt. Robert's Virginia Company.
1780 Enlisted and served 3 tours of 2 months each under Capts. Smith and Nelson
