31. Mrs Curtis B Parks, SR. Parks Family. Benjamin Parks, SR, was pensioned on Certificate 23 984, which was issued under the Act of June, 7, 1832, for 10 months Revolutionary War service. Pension was paid at the GA Agency.
When he applied for pension the veteran stated that in Sept 1777 he was drafted into service in Bedford Co., VA, but that the orders were sountermanded and he returned home. Early in 1780 he entered the service in Surry Co., NC, as a private in Cap Absalom Bostwick's co and served under Col Mark Armstrong in the Surry Reg of Militia.
