1. JOHN¹ MINDER¹ was born 1793 in PotterTownship, Centre County, Pennsylvania ², and died 27 April 1865 in Frankfort Township, Pepin County, Wisconsin ^3,^4,⁵. He married ANN OSAWALDT⁶ 1823 ⁷. She was born 1794 in Pennsylvania ⁸, and died 13 June 1868 in Frankfort Township, Pepin County, Wisconsin ^9,¹⁰.

Notes for JOHN MINDER:
In Pennsylvania John's occupation was wagon maker. After moving to Wisconsin he became a farmer.

In the Pepin County Courier, Durand, Wisconsin, Thursday, 13 April 1916 issue this information was found: John and Ann Minder in 1856 came to Wisconsin to farm in Plum Valley-Postelwait farm.

The family lived on this farm in Frankfort Township, approximately 5 miles outside of Pepin on what is now County Road N, until the deaths of both John and Ann.

The family cemetery is on a small knoll just across the road from where the house now sits. Buried there are, John and Ann along with several other family members. Their son, Eli, was buried there but upon his wife's death his remains were moved to the cemetery outside of Pepin. The family sold the farm to a family by the name of Gaylord Carlson. In 1943 the Carlson family gave this cemetery to the county and it became a public cemetery.

Notes for ANN OSAWALDT:
Ann was born in Germany around 1794, she died 13 June 1868 on the home farm in Frankfort Township in Little Plum Valley, Pepin County, Wisconsin. She was buried on a little knoll on the farm, which was later turned into a public cemetery.
