Descendants of John Minder

9. JOHN² MINDER (JOHN¹)⁶¹ was born in Pennsylvania, and died in Iowa. He married LEDA⁶¹.

Notes for JOHN MINDER:
John Minder, the son of John and Ann (Oswawaldt) Minder was noted in the Minder Family history, author unknown, as the third child. Since I have no sources other than this unconfirmed story, I have put him at the end. The story goes like this: "This John is the one that was killed in an explosion. I don't know if he also worked on the river with his brother Eli, or if the explosion took place in a mill on the Chippewa River. John married a girl named Leda. John died very young and apparently so did Leda, for I have letters from his daughter, Mary, saying she lived with our grandfather, David and our grandmother Rebecca from the time they were married, which was in 1856. According to Mary, they lived in Fort Madison, Iowa, at that time, but I have been unable to locate where they were married. I have no birth or death dates on this family except estimate ones taken from Mary's letters written during WWI to one of Uncle Jim's daughters. In them she menitons about George and Dick at war, as well as Jim's boys, and also mentions that she was 73 years old when she wrote in April 1919. Her letters are very mixed up. Mary also says she had a sister, Emily, and a brother, Samuel."

Notes for MARY MINDER:
Mary Minder the oldest child of Jonn and Leda Minder married a man by the name of Martin Frost and lived near Savannah, Missouri-between the towns of St. Joseph and Savannah.
