He married MARY BRENNER129 14 May 1879 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin130. She was born 30 June 1861 in Pennsylvania131, and died 24 March 1931 in Bay City, Pierce County, Wisconsin.

Notes for W
ILLIAM ELI MINDER:
William Eli or Eli William (have found it both ways on various documents-am using William Eli as that was the way it was on the majority of the documents), married Mary A. Bremer on 14 May 1879 in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, by Rev. George W. Smith, they had six children of whom five lived to adulthood, with an infant son, Merle, dying.

Stationary engineer was written as his occupation on the 1900 Census.

Obit in the Red Wing Daily Republican - William Elie (sic) Minder Pioneer Thresher, Is Dead at Age of 85. William Elie (sic) Minder died this morning at 8 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sadie Lien, St. Paul. Death due to infirmities of age. He took up his residence in Maiden Rock as a yound man and lived there and in Bay City until about two years ago when he went to St. Paul to live with his daughter. He was a kindly gentleman, highly regarded by a host of friends. He was an expert steam engineer and operated a threshing rig in Pierce County nearly half a century and had a wide acquaintance. Two sons, Allie Minder, St. Paul, and Frank Minder, Bay City; three daughters, Mrs. Sadie Lien and Mrs. Myrtle Peters, St. Paul, and Mrs. Mary Bush, St. Paul Park; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren survive. The body was brought to Red Wing today. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Eli's birth date is debatable. On the 1870 and 1880 Census' his age was listed as 16 and 26, on the 1900 Census his age was listed as 45. I have taken 1854 as it is the most consistent. His tombstone has year of birth as 1856 which would have made him 81 at time of death and 1854 would have made him 83, which is closer to 85 the age his obit states.

Eli is buried in the Bay City Cemetery, which is located near the trailer park.

ARY BRENNER:
Mary Brenner was born to Geo. and Mary in Pennsylvania on 30 June 1861. She married Eli Minder on 14 May 1879 in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. She bore six children with five living to adulthood.

Mrs. Elsie Minder, life-long resident of Maiden Rock and Bay City vicinities, passed away at her home last evening in Bay City following a four weeks illness of influenza.
