55. FRANK4 MINDER (WILLIAM ELI3, BENJAMIN2, JOHN1)283 was born 17 August 1883 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin284, and died 13 October 1960 in Red Wing, Goodhue County, Minnesota285. He married LETTIE HALL286 22 November 1903 in Rock Elm Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin287, daughter of GEORGE HALL and HANNAH MORRISON. She was born 12 October 1885 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin, and died 13 April 1967 in Red Wing, Goodhue County, Minnesota288.

RANK MINDER:
Frank Minder was the third child born to Eli and Mary (Brenner) Minder. In his youth he lived in Maiden Rock Township and later moved to Bay City, Wisconsin. He was a stationary engineer so says the Census records. We do know that he worked for the Bay City Sand Mine in the 1930's. He was also a commercial fisherman. According to people in Bay City that I have talked with, they say that Frank had a very good sense of humor.

His death certificate that was registered in Pierce County states that he died from acute cardiac insufficiency. JJ Ferrin was the mortician. He was buried on 15 October 1960 in the Bay City Cemetery.

Obit found in Delia Minder's Bible states: Frank Minder a lifelong resident of Pierce County who made his home at Bay City died Thursday evening at Red Wing Hospital. He suffered a stroke eight days ago and has been confined to the hospital since. He attended Maiden Rock schools and was in the sawmill business for many years. For the past forty years he has been a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Bay City Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; a son William Minder of Red Wing; one brother, Allie Minder of Elk River; Mrs. Sadie Lien of Albert Lea and Mrs. Myrtle Eiemberger of St. Paul, and two grandchildren, Gary Minder of Minneapolis and Rojean of Red Wing. A son Francis preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bay City Methodist Church: Rev. James Hagen will officiate and interment wil be in the Bay City Cemetery.

Lettie M. Hall was born on 12 October 1885 in Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Hannah (Morrison) Hall. She had two sons, William and Francis. After Frank died she moved to Red Wing to live. She died six years after Frank.

Francis E. Minder was the first born child to Frank and Lettie (Morrison) Minder. On his birth certificate his name is written as Frank, on the 1910 Census and his tombston it's Francis E. He only lived to the age of fifteen. Do not know the cause of death. Never found a death certificate for him.

56. HENRY4 THOMPSON (MARGARET3 MINDER, BENJAMIN2, JOHN1)292 was born 1874 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin, and died 11 January 1937 in Plum City, Pierce County, Wisconsin. He married RHODA TAYLOR WEEKS293 06 March 1896294, daughter of WILLIAM WEEKS and RACHEL TAYLOR. She was born 16 July 1874 in Hartland Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin295, and died 21 October 1960 in Red Wing, Goodhue County, Minnesota295.

ENRY THOMPSON:
Henry R. Thompson the first born son of Walt and Maggie Thompson lived his entire life in Pierce County, Wisconsin. He was a mail carrier. He and his wife had six children with five of them living to adulthood. They lived in the Village of Maiden Rock on what is now County Road S, near the Miller family. Henry died 11 January 1937 in the Plum City Hospital from a stroke. His funeral was at the M.E. church, Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. In attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Brunner, daughter, Betty, son, Billie Tom Weekes, sons Clarence of Ellsworth, Mr. and Mrs. Amond Hovde, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Suiter, Mrs. May Davis, all of St. Paul, Mrs. Henry Brynelson, Mrs. Adolph Burgess of Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Minder of Bay City.

Rhoda Taylor Weeks, the daughter of William and Rachel (Taylor) Weeks was married to Henry Thompson and they had six children, with five living to adulthood. One young son died as an infant. She and Henry lived in Maiden Rock and she died in the hospital in Red Wing, Minnesota at the age of 86.

NNA ELIZA THOMPSON:
Anna Eliza Thompson was the third child born to Walter and Margaret (Minder) Thompson. Born in Wisconsin on 27 October 1878. She died at the age of 84 in Oceola, Wisconsin on 25 July 1963, cause of death pneumonia. She had fractured her left hip three weeks previously. Swandby Funeral Home took care of the arrangements and she is buried at the Maiden Rock Cemetery, Maiden Rock, Wisconsin.

ENRY MARTIN BRYNILSON:
Henry Martin Brynilson, son of Marcus and Lena (Waller) Brynilson was the husband of Anna Thompson. They had at least one child, a daughter, Minnie. He was an automotive mechanic. He died three months after his wife, Anna, in the St. Croix County Hospital, Star Prairie, Wisconsin, cause of death was heart failure. He is buried in the Maiden Rock Cemetery, Maiden Rock, Wisconsin.

He married OTELIA HAGEN303 26 February 1912 in St. Paul, Minnesota, daughter of ELIAS HAGEN and ANNA ANDERSEN. She was born 11 November 1890 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and died 12 June 1986 in Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon.

ENJAMIN MINDER:
Benjamin Minder, the son of Henry Long and Alpharetty (Kirtland) Minder was born 9 October 1885, in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin. While Ben lived at Grantsburg and Siren he worked as a barber and when he lived in St. Paul he was a street car conductor. When he moved to Oregon, after retiring, he worked for the School District of Springfield, Oregon doing odd jobs.

Benjamin's obit: Benjamin Minder 1365 C St. died at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital November 17, 1956. He was 71 years of age. Mr. Minder had been a local resident for about four months and was a serviceman for Sears Roebuck and Company. He had lived in Oregon for twenty years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was born in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin October 9, 1885 and was married to Otelia Hagen in St. Paul, Minnesota February 26, 1912. Besides his wife, he was survived by three sons, Benjamin, Jr., Springfield; Warren and Wallace, Riverside, California and three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Sabo, Medford and Mrs. Anne Davis and Mrs. Bernice Sayles, Portland. There are also seventeen grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Ethel McMahon and Mrs. Bessie Peterson and a brother Earl live at Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be in Portland, Tuesday November 20 at 2 p.m. at the A.J. Rose and Son Mortuary with burial in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel.

59. EARL4 MINDER (HENRY LONG3, BENJAMIN2, JOHN1)304 was born 07 September 1889 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin, and died 27 July 1963 in Grantsburg, Burnett County, Wisconsin. He married CLARA LILLIAN ERICKSON 18 November 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota, daughter of PETER ERICKSON and SOPHIA MALM. She was born 21 March 1899 in Falun, Wisconsin, and died 10 March 1936 in Forrest Lake, Minnesota.

ARL MINDER:
Earl J. Minder was born in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin on 7 September 1889 and passed away at Grantsburg Hospital 27 July 1963 at the age of almost 74 years. Earl attended school at Maiden Rock, then worked in a store there for a number of years. The family moved to Grantsburg 7 April 1914 where they farmed for a while in the town of Wood River. On 18 November 1918 he was united in marriage to Clara Lillian Erickson of Falun. This marriage was blessed with two children Lucille Alpharety and Donald Wesley. Both passed away in infancy. After living in the area for a short time they moved to Polk County where they worked for a number of years. It was there that his wife, Clara, passed away, 10 March 1936. Earl then returned to Grantsburg where he bought a farm in Wood River. He farmed until a few years ago when his health began to fail. He was preceded in death by his wife Clara, two children, his parents and brother Bennie. Survivors are two sisters, both of Grantsburg, Bessie Peterson and Ethel McMahon. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church at Falun with pastor Walker officiating. Gene Grovland sang two solos with Mrs. Leon Biederman as organist. Casket bearers were John Craberg, Herbert Bergman, Irving Segelstrom, Roy Erickson, Raymond Forstrom and Jimmie Anderson. Interment was at the Ansgarius Lutheran Cemetery.

LARA LILLIAN ERICKSON:
Clara Lillian Erickson, the daughter of Peter E. and Sophia (Malm) Erickson, was born in the town of Wood River, Burnett County, Wisconsin, 21 February 1899 and died at the Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota, 10 March 1936 at 12 a.m. at the age of 37 years and 17 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Nebo Lutheran Church, Falun, since childhood until 12 August 1934 when she joined the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dresser Junction, where she was a member until her death. Deceased was married to Earl Minder, 18 November 1918. This marriage was blessed with two children, Lucille Alpharety and Donald Wesley. Both died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her early and sorrowful departure her husband: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter E. Erickson, Route 4, Grantsburg, two brothers and two sisters. They are Mrs. John Lahnus, Leslie Nye, Clarence and Melba at home. Also many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Dresser Junction and Nebo Lutheran Church at Falun with the Revs. H. O. Scoby, Dresser Junction and C. E. Cederberg, offciating. Interment was made in the Wood River Lutheran Cemetery.

Lucille Alpharety Minder-Death 22 June 1919. The angel of death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Minder of Alpha last Sunday June 22 and took from them their dear little daughter after a very short illness. Lucille Alpharety Minder was born 27 December 1918 and died 22 June 1919 at the age of 5 months and 25 days. The funeral services were held from the home and from the Wood River Baptist church, Wednesday afternoon 25 June. Rev. S. Fedden officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Wood River Cemetery.

  ii.   DONALD WESLEY MINDER, b. 24 September 1920, Falun, Wisconsin; d. 28 February 1921, Falun, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Minder of Falun on Monday morning 28 February 1921 took from them their dear little son after a short illness. Donald Wesley Minder was born 24 September 1920 and died 28 February 1921 at the age of 5 months and 4 days. Services were held from the home and from the Swedish Lutheran Church at Falun Wednesday afternoon 2 March. Rev. Fedden officiated. Laid to rest at the Wood River Cemetery. Pallbearers: Herbert Fink, Rudolph Sjolander, Teenie Peterson, Weltar Evenson. .


60. BESSIE FLORENCE4 MINDER (HENRY LONG3, BENJAMIN2, JOHN1)304 was born 08 January 1898 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin, and died 10 April 1967 in Grantsburg, Burnett County, Wisconsin. She married ARNOLD RUEBEN PETERSON 17 February 1916 in St. Paul, Minnesota, son of R. PETERSON and LOUISA JOHNSON. He was born 23 July 1894 in Wood River Township, Burnett County, Wisconsin, and died 11 March 1980 in Grantsburg, Burnett County, Wisconsin.

ESSIE FLORENCE MINDER:
Bessie Florence, the daughter of Henry Long and Alpharetty "Etta" (Kirtland) Minder, was born on 8 January 1898 in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin, the baby of the family. Her obit states: Bessie Florence Peterson was born in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin on January 8, 1898 to Alphrita and Henry Minder. She went to school in Maiden Rock. When she was fourteen years old her parents moved to Alpha, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Arnold Peterson on February 17, 1916. This marriage was blessed with one son, Henry. she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Earl Minder of Grantsburg and Bennie Minder of Portland, Oregon. She is survived by her husband and son and two grandchildren Sylvia and Gary, and one sister, Mrs. Perry McMahon. One year ago they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at the farm. Funeral services were held at the Taylor Chapel with Rev. Gordon Johnson officiating. Mrs. Johnson was the organist. Mr. and Mrs. Delroy Peterson sang two duets. Pallbearers were Lowell Nelson, Maynard Oberg, Irving Segelstrom, Herman Johnson, Orlan Johnson and Helmer Larson. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Grantsburg, with Taylor and Son in charge of arrangements.

RNOLD RUEBEN PETERSON:
Arnold Reuben Peterson was born on 23 July 1894 on the farm in Wood River Township where his grandson Gary now lives. He died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Grantsburg on 11 March 1980 at the age of 85. He was the son of B. J. and Louisa (Johnson) Peterson.

Arnold was united in marriage to Bessie Minder on 17 February 1916 and one son, Henry was born the following year. They farmed on the family homestead until 1965, when they retired and moved to Grantsburg village. Bessie passed away in 1967 and in 1971 he married Rosalie Johnson, who passed away in 1975.

Arnold was a lifelong resident of the Grantsburg area and was active in many community affairs. He served on the Wood River Town Board in the 1930's and worked with the Soil Conservation Service when it first came to Burnett County in 1936. He served on the Board of Directors of the Farmers Independent Telephone Company from 1956 to 1971.

Along with farming, Arnold did electricial wiring beginning in 1919 when he installed a light plant in his home. After he retired from farming, he built several houses in Grantsburg. In later years he made yard ornaments and small furniture for friends and neighbors in his wood working shop. He recently had completed a cupola for his grandson's barn which was a copy of the one originally built in 1895.

Arnold had ten half-brothers and sisters who preceded him in death. Survivors included his son Henry, two grandchildren, Gary and Sylvia (Mrs. Bernard Bergeson), three great-grandsons, a step-daughter, Delight (Mrs. Arnold Nordstern), step-grandchildren, great-granchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services were held 14 March at Grace Baptist Church, Grantsburg, with Rev. Kenneth Hyatt officiatiing. Miss Hazel Anderson was the organist.

Florence Ethel Minder, was born, 6 July 1893, in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, the second child of Kenner Collins and Eliza Jane (Youmans) Minder. She moved to the state of Washington with her mother after her parents' divorce. She lived the rest of her life in the Mukilteo area, dying in Everett, Washington, on 3 May 1959. She was buried on 7 May 1959 at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Everett, Washington.
