Notes for R
EV. LLOYD ELLIOTT PETERSON:
Lloyd was the first child born to Henry and Geneva (Minder) Peterson in Red Wing, Minnesota on 15 October 1922. He lived in Red Wing for several years until the family moved to the family farm in Salem Township, Wisconsin. He attended schools in Salem Township, going to the same little school that his father attended as a child. Later attended Ellsworth schools and finally graduating from Rice Lake High School in 1940.

While in high school Lloyd became very sick with nephritis and wasn't expected to live. But God undertook and he lived to graduate and go on to a full life.

On 12 February 1943, Lloyd enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He spent his time with the Army Air Division in the State of Texas where he met his wife, Kitty. They were married six months later. He received an Honorable discharge from the Army Air Forces on 22 December 1944, he was a 2d Lt. He then was commissioned to subsequent service on 23 December 1944, for ten months and thirteen days. This stint was served in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

After marriage Lloyd and Kitty lived in Red Wing until after the birth of their third child, Gail, when they moved to Houston, Texas. Where they lived for the next 15 years and three more children.

While in Houston, Lloyd worked for Lebo Inc. in the retail business, until he felt the call of God on his life and he got his ministerial license and the family then moved to Maquoketa, Iowa to help his brother, Gerald, in the church there.

In Iowa the family bought a small town grocery and Lloyd also worked for Ross River Feed. This stint only lasted for two years when the family then moved back home to Wisconsin where Lloyd started a United Pentecostal Church in Ellsworth which he pastored for three years.

After this time he turned the church over to his brother, Gerald, and Lloyd then moved to Wabasha, Minnesota and started another church in Pepin, Wisconsin where he has pastored the past twenty-five years and has lived in Pepin for the past fourteen years.

While in Wabasha Lloyd owned and operated a Shoe Repair Shop. Several years ago Lloyd sold the business but continues to work part time for the new owners.

In August of 1986 Lloyd had open hear surgery. Since that time he has had a couple of heart attacks and a small stroke. But he still lives a full life and enjoys his sixteen grandchildren and his seventeenth grandchild, Michaela Lynn, who was born 1 August 1998 and his first great grandchild who was born later

Lloyd is a musician who plays the guitar and sings. He's an avid reader and will sit for hours reading and studying.

Wisconsin District News-April 1992---Pastor Lloyd Peterson sent the following report of the nineteenth anniversary services for The Church in Pepin, Pepin, Wisconsin. We wish him and the church God's best, and many more years of blessing. Editor The Lord blessed at our Fellowship meeting on Friday, March 13th and Anniversary services on Sunday, March 15, 1992. Bro. William Larue brought us a message on Friday night we won't soon forget. The Holy Ghost fell as a young lady was refilled. What a time of fellowship as everyone enjoyed the lunch following the service prepared by our good Ladies group. On Sunday morning Bro. Gerald Peterson brought us a message on the worth of our soul. God really blessed again as many drew nearer to Jesus. We tied our Sunday school record of 59! In the afternoon, after a lovely dinner, we had a slide presentation of the nineteen years of our church history. Many folks were really blessed as we saw children who are now teens still serving the Lord. We were made glad to see visitors who were former members come for our annual celebration. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the pastors, ministers, saints and friends who warmed our hearts by your presence.

Notes for G
LADYS INEZ WARD:
Gladys Inez "Kitty" Ward was born in Bronson, Texas way out in the country in East Texas. She was the fourth child born to David and Mary Ward.

At the age of sixteen Kitty left home and went to California with a friend to find work. After working there for some time she moved to San Antonio, Texas where she worked as a long distant operator until she met and married Lloyd Peterson.

Kitty is a small blonde (now graying) and her granddaughter-in-law thinks she should have been a model. She was always a homemaker staying home with the children. Taking them to school events, library (where she instilled in them the love of books), and church activities.

Her hobbies include flower arranging, reading and sewing. She made her daughter, Twila's, wedding gown and many, many bridesmaid dresses throughout the years, with the most recent being for her granddaughter, Tanya's, wedding.

She is known as, Nanna, to her youngest grandchildren. And is lovingly call "granny" by many. She started out with the first one calling her mamaw.

In 1983 Kitty had breast cancer with a lump in the breast and several of the nodes under her arm being cancerous. After surgery she had no treatments and she is cancer free to this day. Her doctor said it was her great faith and her belief in God that helped with her cure.
