283. JONATHAN ALLAN⁷ WOOD (JUDITH ELEANOR⁶ SABO, BESSIE MAY⁵ MINDER, BENJAMIN⁴, HENRY LONG³, BENJAMIN², JOHN¹)¹¹⁴⁸ was born 28 December 1967 in Loma Linda, California¹¹⁴⁸. He married VERONA LYNN WELLS¹¹⁴⁸ 13 December 1987 in Springfield, Oregon¹¹⁴⁸, daughter of VERNON WELLS and NORMA BECK. She was born 18 November 1967 in Eugene, Oregon¹¹⁴⁸.

Notes for JONATHAN ALLAN WOOD:
Jonathan Allan Wood, was born on 28 December 1967 to J. Loyd and Judith Wood in Loma Linda, California. He is the youngest of three boys. He was born while his dad was in his last year of dental school.

The family moved when Jonathan was six months old to Medford, Oregon. He bagan his education at Rogue River Junior Academy, then went on to Milo Adventist Academy in Days Creek, Oregon. There he met his future wife, Verona Wells. After Milo and working the summer in a sawmill in Medford, he attended Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon. During his sophomore year at college, on 13 December 1987, Jonathan and Verona were married in Springfield, Oregon.

Upon graduating from Southern Oregon State College in 1986 with a B.S. in biology, they moved to Loma Linda, California to attend the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990, and is now completing his fourth year of a 5-year residency program in Radiology. After completion of residency, he has been accepted at Loma Linda for a year-long fellowship in Angio/Interventional Radiology. Beyond that, they hope to move back to the Northwest with their family. During their years in California, they have had two healthy additions to their lives. Their sons Joshua J. and Jacob Riley were born.

His interests include: Hunting, fishing, tennis, basketball, computer games, and playing with his boys.

Notes for VERONA LYNN WELLS:
Verona Lynn Wells, was born on 18 November 1967, in Eugene, Oregon to Vernon L. and Norma D. Wells. She is the youngest of six children, and the only girl. She grew up in Springfield, Oregon until the age of five, then the family moved to Creswell, Oregon.

Her education began at Emerald Junior Academy in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, then on to Milo Academy in Days Creek, Oregon. It was there that she met her future husband, Jon Wood. After graduating from Milo in 1986, she took a year of business college in Eugene, then moved to Medford. She and Jon were married on 14 December 1987, at Springfield, Oregon.

She took a job at a paper products distribution company in Medford. They lived in Medford while Jon finished his degree. He graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in biology, and was accepted into Loma Linda University Medical School. They moved to Loma Linda, California that same summer and have been there ever since. Verona found a job at another paper distribuiton company in the area and worked for three years, until their family grew to three. Their first boy, Joshua J., was born in September 1993. Two years and four months later they had their second boy, Jacob Riley, born 28 January 1996.

For the past nearly five years, Verona has been busier and more challenged than ever in her six years of working in an office. She has also had more joy and laughter and just plain fun than that she had had in all her years of work outside the home. She has off and on taken on the role of daycare provider for many of their friends that they have made in Loma Linda who work at the medical center.

Her interests include: Reading, cross-stitching (although I have not done mus of that since the boys arrived), genealogy, gardening, cooking, and crafting withthe kids.

Parents of the bride are Robert and Marlys Pritchard of Bay City and parents of the groom are Dave Minder and Joyce Minder-Engnes of Ellsworth. Guests were greeted by Scott and Kathy Bixby-aunt and uncle of the groom; and Gary and Vicki Nelson-aunt and uncle of the bride. Matron of Honor was Susan Green, Bridesmaids were Kelly Hayes, Angie Wieser, Jenny Gutting, Tiffany Larson and Charysse Minder. Personal attendant was Liz Orthwerth. Best Man was Corey O'Neil. Groomsmen were Troy Minder, Eric Parmeter, Joe Minder, Greg Wilson and R.J. Pritchard. Ushers were Jack Engnes, Jeff Baker and Jesse Nelson. Soloist was Chris Sommerfield and organist was Lisa Bloomstrand. Cake cutters were Linda Strusz, Sandy Daley and Micala Greeley. A reception was held at the Front Porch in Ellsworth. Yvette is employed at Smead Manufacturing in Hastings and Lance is employed at Ford Motor Company in St. Paul. The couple reside in Ellsworth.

Dawson David Minder, the first child born to Lance and Yvette (Pritchard) Minder was born on 29 August 1998 at Fairview Red Wing Hospital, Red Wing, Goodhue County, Minnesota. He weighed 8 lbs. 14 ozs. .

TANYA CHERIE⁷ PAYNE (TWILA COLLEEN⁶ PETERSON, LLOYD ELLIOTT⁵, GENEVA ARVELLA⁴ MINDER, KENNER COLLINS³, BENJAMIN², JOHN¹)¹¹⁷³ was born 27 December 1975 in Red Wing, Goodhue County, Minnesota ¹¹⁷⁴. She married SCOTT WILLIAM SHILTS¹¹⁷⁵ 21 June 1997 in Red Wing, Goodhue County, Minnesota ¹¹⁷⁶, son of GEORGE SHILTS and ELNORA HAYNES. He was born 16 June 1968 in Spooner, Wisconsin ¹¹⁷⁷.

Notes for TANYA CHERIE PAYNE:
Tanya Cherie Payne the second child born to Leon and Twila (Peterson) Payne was born on 27 December 1975 in Red Wing, Minnesota.

She attended Prairie View Elementary School in kindergarten. Then attended Faith Academy in rural Bay City in the first and second grades. With her mother being her teacher in the second grade. The next year she became home schooled and graduated from Bay City Learning Center in May 1994.

During her school days she was a member of the Maiden Rock Rockets 4-H Club. She served as secretary, treasurer and vice president for the club. She was enrolled in: child care, foods, sewing, wild flowers, cake decorating, music and drama. Twice she went to regions with her drama group. She attended State Congress, particiapted in the 4-H exchange going to Massachusetts and in turn hosted a girl from Massachusetts and attended Washington Focus in Washington, D.C. Upon graduating from 4-H she received the Key Award. She won many ribbons during her 10 years in 4-H but her goal was to get a champion ribbon in cake decorating before graduating. Her final year she achieved that goal on her Raggady Ann cake.

During her senior year of high school she lived with her uncle and aunt, Philip and Jennifer Peterson, and was a live in nanny to their infant son, Andrew. She did her school work and had hands on work with her subjects of child care and home economics.

Upon graduation she attended Red Wing Technical College attending the Professional Nanny Program. She graduated in June of 1996. The following year she was a live in nanny for her aunt and uncle again this time to their two children, Andrew and infant Jeremy.

On 21 June 1997 she married Scott William Shilts in Red Wing, Minnesota. They live in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

On 30 September 1998 their first child was born.

Scott and Tanya were married Saturday, 21 June 1997, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Red Wing, Minnesota with Rev. Lloyd Peterson officiating. Maid of honor was Amy Tiedke, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Rochelle Sullivan, cousin of the bride, Betty Godwin, sister of the groom, Jodi Herold, friend of the bride. Best man was Michael Shilts, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Kevin Payne, brother of the bride, Jeff Shilts, brother of the groom, Russell Carter, friend of the groom. Zackary Peterson, cousin of the bride was the ringbearer and Alyssa Borders, cousin of the groom and Carissa Judd, cousin of the bride were the flowergirls. Ushers were Joel Peterson and Philip Peterson, uncles of the bride. April Woods attended the guest book. Music was by Bruce Borders, singing "Butterfly Kisses" and Laura Payne, playing the organ and singing a solo. Reception was at the Mississippi National Golf Links, Red Wing, great aunt Jean Ray cut the cake and it was served by Tina Rebelskey.

Gabrielle Dawn Shilts the first born child of Scott and Tanya (Payne) Shilts was born on Wednesday, 30 September 1998, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, at 10:14 a.m. She wighted 7 lbs. 1 oz., was 21 inches long with dark hair. Her mother was in labor for thirty-one hours with her. She has her paternal grandparents, George and Elnora Shilts awaiting her birth so they could go on their way to General Conference in Greensboro, N. Carolina. While maternal grandparents and great grandparents stayed to enjoy her first hours of life. Now the rest of the Minder Story can go into print! She was only 8 days overdue!! .
