75. William Asa PEARSON was born on 28 May 1870 in Howards Quarter, Tn [Claiborne County]. He died on 18 Mar 1939 in Knoxville, Tn. [Hospital]. He was buried on 21 Mar 1939 in Iris Cemetary, Tazwell, Tn.. He was christened unknown in Howards Quarter Methodist Church. William Ace known as Poppy to his family was born on his grandfather's estate in Howards Quarter, Claiborne County, Tn. He was the son of William Harrison Pearson and Sophronia Smith Pearson. Poppy was a gifted carpenter and built several houses in and around Claiborne County. He was an avid furniture maker as well.

He was married to Nannie Dorcus STONE (daughter of Samuel Wesley STONE MD and Clarissa J. [Mason] THOMPSON) on 18 Feb 1888 in Claiborne Co., Tennessee. Nannie Dorcus STONE was born on 4 Jun 1872 in Ties Branch, Stone Farm. She was baptized before 1885 in Springdale Baptist Church. She died on 13 Sep 1943 in Lone Mountain, Tennessee. Nannie Stone Pearson passed away after a period of illness on September 13, 1943 at the home of her daughter Ida Jennings in Lone Mountain, Tn. She was preceeded in death by her husband William Asa Pearson who died in March 1939. She was converted to the Christian faith at the Spingdale Baptist Church at a very young age, before 1885. She was a faithful christian and continued to serve the Lord until her homegoing to be with Him! Funeral services were held on September 15, 1943 at the Lone Mountain Baptist Church, Lone Mount, Tn. The Burial was at the Iris Cemetary in Tazewell, Tn. She was survived by three daughters and one son. Leona Campbell, Ida Jennings, Mima Golf and Alonzo Pearson. She was buried on 15 Sep 1943 in Iris Cemetary, Tazewell, Tennessee. My Paternal grandmother was a descendent from theHenderson/Stone family. The Hendersons were from Ulster, Ireland. Margaret Bruce who married a Henderson was a descendent from Robert the Bruce who was crowned in 1307 as King of Scotland. William Asa PEARSON and Nannie Dorcus STONE had the following children:
