He died on 26 May 1897 in Howards Quarter, Tn. Claiborne, Co.. He served in the military Dec 1864-Sep 1865 in Tennessee. He was christened unknown in Howards Quarter Methodist. William H. Pearson was a soldier during the Civil War he served with "G" Co. 9th Tenn Calvary.31 Dec 1864 to 13 Sep 1865. Home address, Quarter PO. This is a community called Howards Quarter in Claiborne Co., Tenn.

Grandfather Pearson owned a considerable amount of property in the Howards Quater section of Claiborne County, Tn. Some of the farm is still in the hands of decendents!

William is my great-grandfather. [WHP].

He was married to Sophronia [Smith] SMITH (daughter of William SMITH and Louisanna [Pearson] SMITH) on 12 May 1858 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Sophronia [Smith] SMITH was born on 29 Jan 1840. She was buried in Dec 1922 in Howards Quarter. Claiborne Co, Tn. She died on 17 Dec 1922 in Howards Quarter. Claiborne Co, Tn. She was baptized unknown in Howards Quarter Methodist. Sopronia and William were cousins. She was a descendent of Michael a brother to John of whom William was a decendent. This causing a duplication in our ancestral charts when we run them. It puts Michael as my great-great grandfather as well as John. She and William were second cousins.
