Story from Ronald: I must relate an experience I had in trying to inquire about our family. I discovered a Pepka Spring Co. in the Thomas Register, and called them. The Pepka I spoke to gave me the number of his Uncle in Seattle who was the family historian and about 85 years old. I called him and he told me that they were Jewish. They were fleeing Russia during the persecutions and a Polish prince allowed them to stay on his land and assume his name. I'm certain the Uncle is dead now, this occurred about ten years ago.
