Increase Pettit is listed as a private and Sgt, while Barabus, Charles L, Lewis, Increase and William are all listed as serving in this unit. Ancestory.com under NY Military Equipment Claims of War of 1812 list 10 Pettit's, 6 of whom were from Hempstead, NY and are the same as noted just prior.
