29. Julia Holmes was born on Jul 19 1822 in Rochester, NY. She died on Aug 8 1909 in Astoria, Ill. She has reference number 281. Obituary:

Julia Holmes Babcock (Smith), daughter of Abner Holmes and his wife was born in Rochester, New York, July 19, 1822. In early womanhood, she moved with her parents to Knox County, Ohio. She was married to Henry A. Babcock November 9, 1845. After a few years, they moved to Mason County, Illinois, where they lived until 1855, when they moved to Fulton County, buying a farm a few miles east of Ipava.To them were born eight children. Mr. Babcock died February 5, 1866. In 1868, she was united in marriage to James Smith, a neighbor who was a widower with eight children and for a time there were 16 children in the home.After children were married, they moved to Ipava where he died December 12, 1907. Since that she made her home with her daughters until her death at the home of her daughter Rachel Howard, Sunday, August 8, 1909. Age 87 years. Funeral services were at the home of Mrs. Howard 4 miles SW of Astoria, Ill. Laid to rest in cemetery NE of Summum. Children were:
