About Our Family Research

I am really having trouble finding anything beyond my grandparents, and little even about them. Name originally Platts, but changed to Platt during WWII. All I know is my grandfather was Thomas, born about 1866, (I was told from Nottingham), Learned the cobbler/shoemaking trade from a cobbler by the name of Johnson. Johnson had a daughter, who worked as a domestic, Martha Elizabeth, and became my grandmother. They had 12 children, relocated to New York City, and later, after the crash, moved to New Haven county, Connecticut.
My father was Edward Alfred, passed in 1968.His brothers and sister were Dorothy, Albert, ( who had a twin that died in infancy of influenza), Lillian, Beatrice, who later moved to Arizona, Ethel, Robert, John, Thomas, Violet, and Violetta..(I am sure I left someone out!)
I was told that My Aunt Dorothy( Williams) had the family bible with all the info, but after she passed in the 70's in california, I had no way to conatct her, and the book is lost to this part of the family. She had 2 son, Barry and Roy, a dughter-in-law, Vina, and I have no idea if still living. Would love to contact them.
Also, Cousin Shirley Pitcher Black...daughter of Ethel, would llike to know if she is still living, was in the Shelton, Ct area.If anyone has anything to add, or know previous lives of my Grandparents, PLease let me know..Email is good! reddawnhrt@aol.com. Blessings, Marge Platt
