(1) died on 16 Aug 1911 in Park City, Tennessee.
(8) The Daily Journal & Tribune of Knoxville, Tennessee carried
the following article on page 7 of the issue of Thursday 17, 1911, and as copied
from ficrofilm copies of the newspaper on file at Lawson Mc Ghee Library, Knoxville,
Tennessee
Simpson- William S. Simpson of 2518 Coleman Avenue, Park City, died Wednesday
morning at 8 o'clock at his home in that suburb. The furnal will be held from
the home at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery
The family lived in the Burlington section of Knox, County. The 1898 city directory
for Knoxville list William S. Simpson as a driver for the City Furniture Company.
On May 4, 1898 William Simpson listed his children and their dates of birth on
form 3-402 Under the Act of June 27, 1890 Department of the Interior, Bureau
of Pensions, Washington DC dated January 1898 as follows
Harriet born 13 December 1867
Alice born 12 November 1869
Sam born 26 December 1871
Jane born 25 June 1873
Jesse born 15 December 1875
Vaughn born 02 May 1876?
Rosie born 10 October 1888?
Charley born 15 May 1888?
Ida born 18 December 1890
(dates of last 4 children in question)
Pension papers in the National Archives in Washington DC futher show that William
S. Simpson died of paralysis, that he was living with his daughter Alice Simpson
and husband William Marshall Whitson during his last sickness and died at the
home of Jess F. Simpson who gave his Post Office address as 2518 Nichols Avenue,
Park City, Knoxville, Tennessee. The doctors listed were Dr. W.L. Wallace, Dr.
Rule and Dr. Eben Alexander.

Charlotte Day(1) was born in 1851
in Knox County, Tennessee. 1860 census of Knox County, Tn list Charlotte Day,
born 1851 and list her parents as
John H Day and Ann E Davenport.
She was buried on 13 Jun 1907 in Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, Tennessee.
(9) Greenwood Cemetery records show that Charlette
(Day) Simpson was buried on 13 June 1907 - the microfilm records at Lawson Mc
Ghee Libary do not include paper for this date, though three are two copies of
paper dated 14 June 1907. Children were:

Sam Simpson(1) was born on 26 Dec 1871.

Jane Simpson(1) was born on 25 Jun
1873.

1876. There is a question on the date of birth. The date was listed on form
3-402 Department of the Interion, Bureau of Pensions, Washington, DC dated January
1898 that was filled out by William Samual Simpson
