One was probably Nicolo (the father of Henry, Frank, and Edwin). Per Angelo's grandson William, Angelo returned to Italy more than once, and when in Italy he lived in a cave! Manifest ID # 82181. The manifest indicates he was literate, and traveled Cabin class. He appears to have been accompanied by two other Porreca's Anne (age 24) and Domenico (age 25). These may have been cousins or niece/nephew. Another passenger on that trip was Vincenzo D'Ambrosio, 22 years old. Vincenzo is possibly the son of Vincenzo D'Ambrosio who, together with an Antonio Porreca, are listed in the Philadelphia City Directory 1890, as owners of D'Ambrosio - Porreca Grocers at 761 S.8th St. in Phila.

Angelo apparently returned to Italy, then made several subsequent trips to the U.S. According to the microfilm at National Archives in Phila: Manifest shows arrival of ship Rhynland at Port of Philadelphia 3 June 1903. Angelo is passenger #28. Details show: he could read and write, he was previously in Phila 1899-1902, he is visiting his son Camillo Porreca at 731 Fitzwater St. There are a number of other passengers (from Gessopalena and Torricella) that may be related. It appears that Angelo had several visits to the USA, including embarkations at NY: 8 Sep 1892 Cachemire, 13 Jun 1901 Isola DiLevanzo (destination 420 Fitzwater St), and 4 Oct 1907 Konigen Luise (traveling with him were 18 year old Domenico Ficca and 17 year old Marziale Appolonio), and in Philadelphia 3 Jul 1903 Rhynland. Parents: Domenicantonio PORRECA and Perseda PELLICCIOTTA.

Returning at some point to Torricella, Camillo Porreca and his spouse Camilla Teti emigrated to the United States, 29 Jan 1903 arriving at Ellis Island 11 Feb 1903 aboard the ship TRAVE which departed from Naples, Campania, Italy on 29 January 1903 to visit (per manifest) his cousin Vincenzo Porreca at 820 1st Avenue Phila. Also appearing next to them on the ship's manifest are the names Nicola Ficca (16 years old) and his uncle Vincenzo Ficca (35 years old) - likely these are relatives of Camillo's mother Rosa Ficca; Nicola Ficca is visiting his father Panteleone in Phila (address unclear). While Vincenzo Ficca is visiting his uncle Vincenzo Ambrosio (probably should be D'Ambrosio) at 731 Fitzwater St Phila.. Camillo's name is misspelled "Parrera" on the manifest.
