Luigi arrived at Ellis Island 19 Feb 1904 aboard the ship SICILIA traveling with his sister Angela, and three other passengers from Torricella Peligna: Pasquale Verdone, Domenico DiCicco, and Nicola Teti (a cousin?). The ship's manifest shows Luigi and Angela's destination to be to visit their father at 821 Christian St Phila, however that address is lined out and replaced with Marysville,PA. Research into the 821 Christian Street address turned up that that address was a a boarding house for immigrants owned and operated by Antonio Palumbo who would recruit and assist italian immigrants. Also traveling with them is a Celestina Porreca (16 YO) who will visit her sister Giovanna at 1224 Catherine St. Another passenger next to these on the manifest is Vincenzo DiPaolo (16 yo) also from Torricella who is visiting his brother-in-law Felice Teti at the same 1022 Catherine St address. Parents: Giovanni PORRECA and Rosa FICCA.

Nicola apparently returned to Italy and then returned to Ellis Island 21 June 1893 aboard the ship Chandernagor. In his earlier career, he worked as a bell boy at the Drake hotel in Phila. He was the Golden Gloves boxing champion in 1933. During WWII, he worked as an electrician in the Camden NJ shipyards. Later he worked for Esterbrook Pen Co. in Camden, NJ. With Esterbrook, he played drums in the company minstrel band and held a 192 bowling average with the company bowling team. In his later years (46) he became an avid golfer, getting his first Hole-in-One at the age of 82. Richard belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

Richard was married to Regina McEachron in 1958. Richard and Regina Porreca are currently traveling the U.S. and Canada in their Recreational Vehicle.
