Carol A. Botteicher lists birthdate as 12-29-1829 and states: "Married Rueben Rearick (or Yearick). It is noted that this was an intermarriage. The mystery is - how is it an intermarriage? One possibility is that Jonas might have had a
sister who married a Rearick, and Reuben ws a product of that union. In that case, Reuben and Martha were first cousins. Martha died in childbirth, or shortly thereafter, having her daughter, Maggie Moi. It is said that her grandmother took
over raising her. When Maggie Moi was about four, and her father (having remarried) came for her, her grandmother would not give her up. At first we thought that this was her grandmother Elizabeth, but nothing indicates that she was ever a
part of that household."
