DIED SATURDAY
WAS FORMERLY A RESIDENT OF STONINGTON TOWNSHIP -- FUNERAL HERE MONDAY AFTERNOON.

Mrs. H.E. Peters, formerly a resident of Stonington township, died at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Tuttle, 1660 North Oakland Avenue, Decatur
Saturday afternoon at two o'clock after six weeks suffering of uraemic
poisoning.
The remains were brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.W. Gorman, at
three o-clock Sunday afternoon.
Harriett Elizaeth McDaniel was born in Hill??? [Hillsborough?], Pa, August
12, 1833 and was 79 years, 11 months and 7 days old at death. At the age of 22
years she was united in marriage with Lyman Peters at Columbus, Ohio.
Mrs. Peters and her husband moved from Ohio to Moultrie county 38 ears,
removing to their farm in Stonington township in 187. Retiring from the farm
they moved into the villiage of Stonington a year or two before the husband's
death, which occurred in December 1895.
Mr. and Mrs. Peters had a family of 12 children eight of whom survive their
mother: James Peters of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Mary E. DuBois, of Wakita, Okla,
Mrs. Thos., McConnell, of Taylorville, Mrs. H.G. Adams, and Mrs. W.W. Gorman of
Stonington, Mrs. Geo. Tuttle, and John W. Peters of Decatur and Mrs. Frank Burt
of ????. All of the boys were present for the funeral except James Peters, who
was detained by ilness and Mrs. DuBois, who could not arrive in time for the
funeral. There are thirty grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren
in ????
Mrs. Peters was a communicant of the Baptist church at Marceville?, Ohio in
18?? and always assumed her share of the activities in the ??? and ??? life of
the Baptist Churches of the several communities in which she lived.
The funeral ??? was held in at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W.W.
Gorman, in Stonington at 2:00 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Grant Johnston officiating.
Internment was at the Stonington cemetery. Children were:
