510. John D. ZUMWALT was born about 1779 in Winchester, , Virginia. He died about 1876 in , Polk Co., Missouri. He has reference number 510. Served in the War of 1812. He was a riverboat captain in the St,
Charles/St. Louis area prior to his move to SW Missouir about 1837. One of his
brothers followed the Lewis and Clark expedition to Oregon (shortly after) with
a brother of Clark. He was a trapper and became a riverboat pilot on the
Willamette River in 1855. He was married to Jane Hancock JONES on 8 Apr 1806 in , Bath Co., Virginia.

511. Jane Hancock JONES was born about 1787. She died between 1850 and 1860. She was buried in Howe Cemetery, Ash Grove, Missouri. She has reference number 511. Children were:
