Several years ago I realized that when I die knowledge regarding my family will go with me. My children were raised without knowing any of their families in Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia, Tennessee and Florida. I am getting this information complied for them and their children while building a virtual momument to my family.
What surprises I have had in my research. Some information I thought I had has been revealed to be false. Other information has been shocking. Sometimes the facts have been painful and have brought tears to my eyes. Mostly, I have been proud.
My Father's family name ended with his death. There are no boys to carry it on. That branch will die. Someday my children will be interested in knowing about their roots. It will be available to them. And it will be there forever.
