John Rennie (b. 23 October 1855, d. 31 March 1923)

John Rennie (son of Samuel Rennie (Rainey) and Elizabeth Hamilton) was born 23 October 1855 in McLeod's Land, High Street, Dumbarton, and died 31 March 1923 in Leith Hospital, Edinburgh. He married Margaret Scott on 29 June 1883 in Elephant and Castle Hotel, Dumbarton, daughter of Arthur Lang Scott and Agnes McGugen.

John was a ships caulker, lived at 4 Cartsburn Street Greenock, and worked in Greenock where daughter Agnes was born, moved to Dumbarton where Sam and Arthur were born, moved to 37 Sandport Street, Leith around 1889, where the other six members of the family were born, finaly moving to 3 Bernard Street, Leith in 1903.
