Notes for PETER CRAPO: Peter may have been born in Bordeaux, France, about 1671. His brother Nicholas was a Captain of a French Man of war, and in 1680 he took the boy Pierre on board without the knowledge or consent of their parents. They were cast away on the coast of Cape Cod. Nicholas returned to France promising to return for Pierre, but he never did. This vessel was wrecked off the shore of Cape Cod (at Buzzard Bay) and foyr men Nicholas Crapo, Louis DeMaranville, Louis Voteau, (Old) Peter Jucket (Jaquette) and the boy Peter (about 10 or 12 years of age) were saved in a boat and landed at Plymouth. Capt Nicholas bound his brother Peter out to Francis Coombs. After becoming of age he bought part of a considerable amount of land in Rochester, Mass., owned by his father-in-law, Samuel White. That part has been in possession of decendants from 1734 to now.
