URBAIN JETTE (son of MATHURIN JETTE and BARBE HULIN) was born 1627 in ST. PIERRE DE, VERRIN PROCHE LA, FLECHE, FRANCE, and died 13 May 1684 in MONTREAL, QUEBEC. He married CATHERINE CHARLES on 26 Jan 1658/59 in VILLE MARIE, TEMISCAMINGUE, QUEBEC, daughter of SAMUEL CHARLES and FRANCOISE COCHET.
Notes for URBAIN JETTE: Urbain was engaged for a five year period in March 1653 as a pit sawyer and bricklayer to help in the building and defense of Ville marie, the original name of Montreal. He became a soldier in the 19th squadron of the militia of Ste. Famille in Montreal. Urbain and Catherine lived through the Iroquios attacks and Urbain helped many times in the defense of the little town.
