Notes for WILLIAM WITHERSPOON:
At one time William lived in the Darlington, Pa. area. It is said that William's father John bought his eldest son a farm there when he and Emeline were married. Later he gave the farm to his oldest son William Harle (Harlan).
In the 1880 Census, Lawrence Co., Wampum, Big Beaver Twp, Emily is listed alone.
William and Emily were presented certificates of membership to the Wampum Presbyterian Church in Oct. of 1875. William was elected an elder at that time.
