 Includes NotesNotes for SAMUEL EDDY:
He came to Plymouth Colony in 1630 with his brother on the "Handmaid" from London. Because he had no "testamony" he was unable to move to the Massachusetts Bay Colony when his brother, John did. He lived in Plymouth Colony for 30 or more years. He moved later to Middleboro and then to Swansea, Mass.
Since Samuel later became a tailor it is imagined that his brother Phineas probably apprentice him to that trade. In that part of the country this was a very lucrative trade at that time.

Samuel Eddy went with Capt. Standish to Boston, but having no testimony they were not received and were sent back to Plymouth until they could get the proper papers.
