PIERRE DESAUTELS (son of THOMAS DESAUTELS and MARIE DE LAFLECHE BUISSON) was born 15 Oct 1630 in MALICOME, LAFLECHE, LEMANS, MAINE SARTHE, FRANCE, and died 19 Nov 1708 in MONTREAL, QUEBEC. He married CATHERINE LORION on 23 Nov 1676 in MONTREAL, QUEBEC, daughter of MATHURIN LORION and FRANCOISE MORIN.

Pierre was listed as a passenger on the St. Nazaire on the 30th of April 1653, in a group of three, as follows:

Pierre Desautels/Lapointe he is found again in Montreal, Quebec on the list of confirmations at Notre Dame de Montreal on 24 Aug 1660, the ninth name, as Pierre Desautels. Before his own marriage, he is a witness at the marriage of Antoine Beaudry, who had also come over on the St. Nazaire. The wedding took place on 14 Dec 1665 at Notre Dame de Montreal between Antoine Baudry and Catherine Guyard.
His own marriage with Marie Remy took place at Notre Dame de Montreal on 11 Jan 1666. The witnesses at their wedding were Honore Langlois and Pierre Chavin, who both signed the record. In the census of 1666 there is a Lapointe listed at Montmorency, in a group of all single men, ages 18 to 50. He is listed as single. In the census of 1667 in Montreal the family is listed as # 130 Pierre Desautel age 37 years Marie Remy 21 years Desautels 1 year. On 11 Nov 1575, Pierre's young wife Marie Remy, died. She was only twenty-nine at the time.
Pierre married again to Catherine Lorion, they were married 23 Nov 1676 at Notre Dame de Montreal. Interestingly, he is listed as single, rather that as a widower on the marriage record. His father's occupation is listed as master tailor, and both of his parents are listed as stilling living. There were several witnesses at this wedding: Pierre Pigeon, Guillaume Bouchard, Antoine Regnaud, Jean Raynaud, Jean Delpue, Mathurin Lorion, and Gilles Perot. The priest who married them was Father Lefebvre. In the census of 1681 in Montreal, they are listed as family #102. Pierre Deshotels 50 years male married Catherine Lorion 45 years female married Gabriel deshotels 11 years male single (his son from his first marriage) Pierre Deshotels 4 years male single Gilberte Deshotels 2 years female single Jean (Milet) 7 years. He was the son of Catherine and her first husband Nicolas Milet. He was born 6 Jan 1674 in Montreal.
Notice that Joseph Desautels who would have been about 14 years old at the time of this census is not listed with the family.
