It was Sarah (Hood) Bassett, wife of William Bassett, Jr., who was accused of Witchcraft.
The Annals of Lynn, Ma state that "Sarah Bassett was tried at Salem 23 May 1692 and sent to Boston prison, where she was kept until 3 December 1692, seven months. She was the daughter of Richard Hood, and wife of William Bassett. She had a young child, twenty-two months old, which she took to prison with her.
