JOHANN JACOB BODAMER was born Abt. 1758 in GERMANY, and died 1818 in CONNELLSVILLE, FAYETTE CO., PA.. He married ANNA ELISABETH.

Notes for JOHANN JACOB BODAMER:
Born in Germany, was christened Johann Jacob Bodamer, Abt 1758. As a young man he migrated to America, and settled in Berks County, Pa., where he enlisted in the German Regiment, Pennsylvania Continental Line on 9 Aug 1776 for the duration of the war, due to German pronunciation of the letters "D" as "T" the last name became "Bottomer" when he enlisted. He completed his service 9 Apr 1781.
After the war he settled in ligonier area of Westmoreland County, Pa. His son George Buttermore administered his will in 1825. Jacob Bodamer aka Jacob Buttimor St. Jacob Bottimore and other variation.
Jacob Bottomer, was wounded 4 Jan 1777, two ribs broken by a musket ball.
Served four years and eight months.
Private in Second Continental Line.
Head stone destroyed by vandals in 1964.
