JACOB B. STRICKLER (b. 05 Dec 1749, d. 29 Oct 1828)

JACOB B. STRICKLER (son of JACOB STRICKLER and ELIZABETH HALSMOT (HALSTADT)) was born 05 Dec 1749 in SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYVANIA, and died 29 Oct 1828 in FAYETTE COUNTY, PENNSYVANIA. He married ELIZABETH STEWART on 1778 in FAYETTE COUNTY, PA., daughter of JOHN STEWART and ELIZABETH SCHNEIDER SYNDER.

He was baptized March 29, 1750 in the Dutch Reformed Church. He settled in Fayette Co. He came to Fayette co., Pa and settled in Tyrone Twp., on Jan 13 1789 he received a deed from Jacob Stewart for 394 acres, situated on Jacob's Creek. here he established his home, built a grist mill and sawmill. He married Elizabeth Stewart, sister of Jacob Stewart, and they lived on this farm the remainder of their lives.
Before his death Jacob divided the farm among his four sons and gave them deeds for same. His Will is registered in Uniontown, Pa.
Jacob Strickler burial: Owensdale Cemetery, Upper Tyrone Twp. Pa.

He is enumerated in the first census of 1790 in Tyrone Twp., Fayette Co., Pa.
He served in the Revolution in Southampton Company, under Capt. John Folwell, Bucks County, Pa.
