SIMON ALLARD (son of EMERY ALLARD and JULIENNE BAILLOUX) was born 09 Nov 1664 in POITIERS, VIENNE, FRANCE, and died 26 Sep 1739 in RIVIERES des PRAIRIES, QUEBEC. He married MARIE CATHERINE LACOMBE on 12 Jan 1704/05 in POINTE aux TREMBLES, QUEBEC, daughter of JEAN BAPTISTE LACOMBE and MARIE CHARLOTTE MILLET.

Simon is the first of his family to appear in North America. He came to Montreal in the summer of 1683. He was indentured to serve a merchant, Pierre Perthuys, for 5 years tp pay for his passage. In 1689, he acquired a concession of land on te northeast tip of Montreal Island in the settlement of Riviere-des-Prairies. He settled there and began to clear his land and develop a successful farm. He did not marry until nearly 16 years later, but by then he was a successful landholder ready to look after and provide for a family. He continued to build his family and farm his land until his death in 1739. His family has since spread all over North America.
